The new intro had to use the existing logo for "The Loop" with no modification.
The imagery used in the intro had to be representational of all of Ohio and could not be specific to just one part, since ODOT serves the whole state.
The visual and motion style of the intro had to be expanded across the lower-thirds used in the videos.

ODOT Zephyr
Key Inclusions
To tie-in the logo smoothly with the imagery, I decided to create a cityscape that lived on the back of the Zephyr (the ODOT logomark pictured above). This way, the cityscape could flip over and reveal the logo with no hard cuts.
I modeled a variety of buildings from different areas of Ohio, including tall city apartments, small garages, suburban houses, office buildings, and of course a road that surrounds the cityscape in a loop.
As a hidden "easter egg" for ODOT employees who see the intro, I modeled the office building to resemble the Central Office of ODOT in Columbus, Ohio.
