Leslie's Story

At 19 years old, Leslie realized that she could no longer find herself visiting her mother anymore. Hearing her mother complain as she downed her 6th glass of wine. After several promises that the drinking would stop, she failed to keep them. Leslie became angry and began to distrust her mother.
Leslie’s mother liked to pull the victim card on Leslie to better herself. Leslie would believe the words coming out of her mom’s mouth, eventually falling into a state of self guilt that she could never escape. Her mother only saw her own pain, no one else’s. Leslie did not want her children to go through the same suffering she did as a little girl. Leslie vowed to never come in touch with alcohol ever. Leslie decided that not letting her mom be in her life would provide a better life for not only her, but her children as well.
